Located at 634 Oak St in San Francisco, between Fillmore and Webster, the Zendo is at the garage level, accessed through the service door to the right of the garage.  Opened and dedicated in January of 2015, we have been holding classes, sittings and presentations by senior practitioners every month for the past seven years.  The 7th Street Zendo is at 917  7th Street in Boise, ID, a block from the Coop.  Our attic space was renovated and dedicated in 2016.

Participating members in the Oak and 7th Street Zen Sanghas are both new and experienced students, frequently with some exposure and appreciation of Soto Zen forms and teaching style.  We practice in the tradition and lineage of Suzuki Roshi, Mel Weitsman and Norman Fischer.  Many participants have had exposure and appreciation of both the San Francisco Zen Center forms and the Everyday Zen communities.

We welcome everyone with an interest in exploring the place of Buddhist practice and study in our lives.

Many people have an interest in meditation and Buddhist practice, but lack the support of a regular schedule and community to commit to.  Our intention is to support people in the midst of our demanding lives, to build a regular sitting practice and experience the comfort and support of Buddhist community.

Daily Schedule:  We offer Zazen on Zoom every morning except Saturday at 6 AM Pacific Time,
